Alexander is a video essayist, writer, musician, researcher, and speaker currently based in New York City. His YouTube channel analyzes cultural phenomenon using a queer, sociological and philosophical lens. He has almost 600,000 subscribers and over 40 million views. He has published original written work in The Guardian. His work has been highlighted by NBC News, The Gay Times, Polygon, and SCREENSHOT Media. His videos have covered a diverse set of topics, from the MAHA movement, Techno Fascism, Taylor Swift, Transgender Politics, Mental Illness, and more.
Generally, his work covers subjectivity in the 21st century, which he expresses through the mediums of writing, research, and film. He seeks to develop complex social ideas and translate them into an accessible language that invites the public into them, often relating to his audience through his experiences as a neurodivergent Latino trans man. Broad themes in his work include examining the dialectical movement between the particularity of identity and its universal content, institutional legitimacy and the deconstruction of norms, the productive capacity of technology and its destructive constitutive elements, and order and rupture
He received his A.B. in Sociology from Brown University in 2023, where he worked as a social science researcher on projects investigating the platform economy, mass incarceration, education policy, and COVID misinformation. His academic work has been published in the peer reviewed CLR James Journal and has been named the Global Winner at the Global Undergraduate Awards in 2022. In college, he was a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow and Cogut Undergraduate Fellow.
In October of 2022, he released an album called October Conspiracy, and continues to write songs. He is also a vocalist in sunshine pop band, The Stowaways.
